As backgrounds or textures, these make for a wonderful
effect. The brightly coloured "Harmony" papers are small (1 1/2" to 2")
and used for cranes and such to decorate at parties. They are typically
100-200 yen for 100 sheets, a very good buy ($1 to $2 US, depending on
the day's exchange). If you see a paper you fancy, write me and I'll connect
you with a good vendor.
These patterns are typically sold in kits to make kawaii
origami dolls in kimonos. You get many patterns of "fabric" for their clothes,
plus sheets of white for their skin and black for hair. If anyone would
like to make them, I'll send you the instructions for folding them. It's
really quite fun! Prices are usually 200 to 400 yen, depending on the sheet
count. You don't get as much paper, as it is larger and has more coloured
inks involved.
